Olusegun HOSEA. 21st May, 2024.
The pupils of Adedipe Omobolanle Community Primary school, Oda Road, has appealed to the relevant government authorities to come to their Aid by rehabilitating or build a new modern toilet facilities for them in their school for the use of both the staff and the pupils for sanitary purposes. Although, other facilities like computer laboratory that would be equipped with some computers were also demanded by the staff and the learners that would ease the work of the workers in the school and make learners to be computer literate.
This was disclosed to our correspondence during the interaction with some of the learners to know why some of them are urinating openly and closer to the existing toilet facilities in the school compound rather than making use of the toilet? According to them ,the facility is not good enough and more so the road leading to the place was too narrow an learners hardly make use of it as the entrance was seeing facing the fence wall which mafe it too difficult for two pupils to enter at once if they are pressed.
A visit to the building shows that the facility needs replaced and the place was not well kept as some of the pit toilet or the hole of most of the facility were blocked with paper and probably sand which made the place to be abandoned for use. Although there was Bole hole water in the school compound which is running.
Similarly, it was observed that school has just only one Desktop computers for a population of about one hundred and ninety three learners (193)comprises of ninety nine (99) Boys and nine ty four (94) Girls which was donated by the Parent Teachers Association of the school for learners to be computer literate.
Adedipe Omobolanle Community Primary school with the above figures population was a public school owned by the state Government of Ondo State with just ten(10) staff both teaching and none teaching was established on the 23rd August,2007 . The learners academic performance in the external examination was a little bit okay as some of the learners could transit to the secondary school for further learning.
